Hi Erica,

Yes i must concur with everyone here, you are a star. I saw 'California' saturday night on Rage, programmed by Wild Flag ladies. Never heard you before. I have to say it grabbed me straight away. It's bold and dark. There's little jolting surprises right through that song and your rhythm and movement in the video performance are beautiful. I like you very much. Thankyou.

I just felt compelled to say something here.

I had the pleasure of seeing you perform live in Melbourne when you supported Yuck at the East Brunswick Club back in February, having not heard any of your tracks I wanted to get to the venue early so that I could catch some of these lo fi/hi fi sounds that I had read about.

The structure of the songs, the concept of the sound scape and the lyrical content just blew me away. I bought your album straight after and have been spinning it since, the raw emotion gets me every time and you know it's great album to meditate to, it really takes me to another place. I consider "Marked" to be one of the best love song written since George Harrison's "Something" back in 1969.

When you're next back in Australia I would love to buy you a drink and just talk about music with you!

Until then, thank you, I'll keep listening.

[...] EMA is the solo project of Erica M. Anderson, the former lead singer for defunct noise-rock band Gowns, and her four piece band plays a loose, groaning rock music that funnels the small town anxieties of drugs and love through a singing style that sounds like Elliot Smith resurrected with the emotional concerns of a young woman.
Hi Erika,

I came to listen to your music after having read that you'd collaborate with my favourite musician if you could and re-posted that news bit to my website. People left a lot of mean comments, thinking it was something said by a random mainstream pop artist and that got me curious to check out bnoth of your releases. I loved both of them a lot! :)

Too bad not many avant-garde artists come to southeastern Europe, so...to all of these people who commented before me: please, do take videos at the shows, for the rest of us who can't make it.

Erica I saw U at the tote in Collingwood last weekend . Fantastic gig. I feel like I have seen and heard something as exciting as it must have been to C Nirvana at an early gig with only 150 people. And the good folk at MOJO got it wrong saying "Grey Ships" is the standout track cos really the are very few songs in the history of music as good as "California" It is sonic and brilliant. Thank you so much for your vision . Love U H
